About Course

This course introduces students and clinicians to the full world of cochlear implants from how the technology works, to who qualifies, how surgery is performed, and how devices are programmed after activation. The course will also discuss real clinical challenges, expected outcomes, and the strengths and limitations of cochlear implants.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to describe the essentials of electrical hearing and how implant systems process sound. Additionally, they will be able to perform CI candidacy evaluation, mapping, and rehabilitation.
